" 'Protect your sanity at all costs.'
These were the last words spoken to David, a young survivor of the cosmic 5 tragedy, before he found himself fleeing for his life, and seeking refuge in a galaxy filled with danger, mystery, and suspense. Hiding behind the mask of a nerdy space explorer, David recruits a young warrior woman and a self-obsessed space thug as crew members to join him on his galactic adventures, hoping to lay low to avoid any unwanted attention. But after the galaxy is threatened by a criminal mastermind with a lust for human life, David and his team must come out of the shadows and put an end to this menace, before he can drive humanity to extinction. Can David and his companions survive the challenges that lie ahead? Or will they crumble into the never-ending void... of the Deep Cosmos." Okay here goes... while this book has a lot of potential, I did see a lot of flaws and errors in it. The premise of the story is very intriguing, however I felt like there should have been a little bit more character and story introduction. If this was a second book in a series I wouldn't have had this problem. But since it is the first I am having issues with it. And because of this issue I was not really able to connect with any of the characters. The action-packed scenes are very fun to read, however I also felt like there wasn't enough downtime in order to catch your breath in between the action scenes. This can lead too overwhelming the reader. The main character was likable yes, but I really felt like he had a Superman thing going on with the glasses. I found myself saying "Come on, seriously?" more than a few times. I also found some editing errors that need to be addressed. Things like grammatical errors should be edited out before publishing the book. With all things considered I feel a little editing and some tweaking of the story would make this book a great read. It definitely has the potential to be so. Once everything is fixed I would definitely recommend this to anybody who likes action-packed sci-fi stories.
